Knuckles the Echidna (ナックルズ・ザ・エキドゥナ Nakkurusu za Ekiduna) is a red anthropomorphic echidna who is strong and fierce. He can be very gullible at times, but he has a soft side.

Meeting Topaz[]
After Knuckles had broken up with Julie-Su, she decided to rebel against him. She paired up with the Dark Legion and destroyed the Master Emerald. He went on another adventure to retrieve the shards, and Knuckles met Topaz in the Lost World. Knuckles asked Topaz why she was at the Lost World, and Topaz explained that she needed to find a Chaos Emerald to try protect Station Square from Perfect Chaos, but Topaz gave the reason why it was called Lost World... because she was lost. After they retrieved the emerald shards, Knuckles shyly confessed his romantic feelings for Topaz.
Death of a Girl[]
Knuckles witnessed the apparent death of Topaz the Hedgehog. He begged for Topaz not to kill herself, but Topaz refused to listen to his begs.
